内容摘要：In this talk, we will discuss the Euler equations and applications in gas dynamics and geometry. First, the basic theory of Euler equations and mixed-type problems will be reviewed. Then we will present the results on the transonic flows past obstacles, transonic flows in the fluid dynamic formulation of isometric embeddings, and the transonic flows in nozzles. We will discuss global solutions and stability obtained through various techniques and approaches.

主讲人简介：王德华，美国匹兹堡大学数学系终身教授，在清华大学取得学士学位，美国芝加哥大学取得博士学位。他的研究领域包括偏微分方程和应用数学，特别关注双曲守恒律和流体力学中的非线性问题以及相关的应用研究。曾主持过多项美国国家自然科学基金项目的研究。已在Advances in Mathematics、Mathematische Annalen、Communications in Mathematical Physics、Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis等国际重要数学期刊上发表学术论文近百篇，引用次数2000余次。目前担任《SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis》和《Journal of Differential Equations》等多个国际数学杂志的编委。
